ServerTastic Survey Results

Over a 2 week period last month we ran a quick survey asking customers about our website and order process. We love feedback and thought it would be worthwhile sharing with you.

Overall the results are very pleasing. It is great to see mostly positive responses. As always though we welcome your feedback on anything and everything (Contact Us).

We used the FormStack system to handle the survey and what a fantastic system it is!

ServerTastic Email Updates

If you are a regular customer of ServerTastic that (for some bizarre reason) does not subscribe to the ServerTastic Email Updates you will know that when you had completed your order you would receive an email asking you to join the ServerTastic Mailing List. Following feedback (and a few complaints) from customers this has now been changed.

I admit it was a bit intrusive and a pain if you were not interested. Instead on the order completion page we will give you the option to sign-up. If you are already subscribed then we will give you the option to change the frequency of your updates. My suggestion is to select Daily but if you think this is a bit much then Weekly is a good balance between maintaining up to date information and avoiding email overload.

You can now also manage your email updates via the My Account area. When you log-in we will either give you the option to subscribe or update your frequency preferences.

You may also notice some subtle changes to the format of the email updates. Mainly the addition of an "In cased you missed them" section at the end of the email. This will contain links to previous updates which you may not have seen.

As always I welcome your feedback.

The new SSL Wizard has just been enabled on ServerTastic. The wizard is designed to help you with a number of SSL related tasks including, renewing your SSL, requesting a re-issue, resending your approver email and of course helping you find the best SSL for your requirements.

Please give it a try and let us know your comments. (You can also provide feedback via FaceBook, Twitter and LinkedIn).

Changes to ServerTastic website

If you have made a purchase on ServerTastic recently you may have noticed a few changes to the website and checkout process.

The site has undergone a re-design. Some sophisticated and time consuming analysis of our website usage statistics provided a good insight into how visitors use the website and what pages they visit. A small survey of 100 customers also returned some interesting results.

The new design is built on simplicity. It should also make it easier for us to integrate a number of new features we have planned.

With the new design came some changes to the checkout process. When you add items to your basket you may be shown details of related promotions. This is designed to help you avoid missing any potential savings that could be made.

The actual checkout payment process itself has also been stripped down. This is to make the checkout pages load as fast as possible and remove all unnecessary distractions.

In a few days we will also be enabling our new payment page. We are moving to remotely host our payment page with our payment provider. This is to ensure PCI compliance and allow us to start using services such as 3D secure (now mandatory with Maestro). Doing this means we will also be able to accept Switch, Solo and Maestro cards on top of the existing Visa and MasterCard.

As always I would love to hear your feedback good and bad! Remember you can contact us via Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn

Latest ServerTastic Equipment

At the start of March we completed the migration of ServerTastic to a new hosting system.

We spared no expense and in response to all the requests I have not received above is a picture of the new system in action.

The top vented cooling allows for better system performance and the server casing is 100% recyclable.

REPOST:How To Add A Reference To Your Order

I have read a few queries recently from customers asking about reconciling invoices against purchased products. Particularly SSL certificates where the invoice description does not include the SSL domain.

Last year I posted how to add your own reference to invoices. I thought this would be a good opportunity to highlight this post.

System Migration Complete

We have completed a migration of the ServerTastic system. As a result the web site access speeds have been vastly improved. Although customers accessing the site via the old system may experience some slow speeds as the database is accessed remotely. Once your DNS has updated the speed will improve (should be no more than a couple of days).

Orders which are completed via the automated system should also occur much quicker. This includes orders for SSL Certificates, SmarterTools and DotNetPanel.

Advanced warning of ServerTastic system maintenance

This is an advanced notice of maintenance to the ServerTastic system.

Week commencing Monday 22nd February 2010 we will be making some infrastructure changes. This will involve relocation of system databases and the main website.

This may mean a slow down in website performance at some times and the site may be unavailable for short periods of time.

This work is required to ensure the ongoing stability of ServerTastic as we continue to grow.

Status updates will be posted to Twitter with the hashtag #ststatus

Thank you for your continued support.

SmarterTools Reseller Performance

Over the years we have sold many products on ServerTastic. One of the companies we have worked with from the start has been SmarterTools. They produce an awseome range of products including SmarterMail (a highly efficient mail server with ActiveSync support), SmarterStats (a mega powerful web site statistics package with SEO reporting) and SmarterTrack (a customer service portal as used on ServerTastic).

This morning I received an email from them detailing my current reseller performance (we have to meet certain quarterly sales targets). In the summary was the lifetime total products sold. I have done a screen grab below as I could not believe it myself!

Yes we have sold $415,351.96 worth of SmarterTools products! This proves a number of things.
  • SmarterTools produce fantastic products
  • It was the right decision to become a reseller. We have also renewed our partnership for another year; Press Release.
  • You (our customers) clearly love the products (and I am grateful you chose ServerTastic as your reseller)
If you have not heard of SmarterTools before check out the range of products on our website available for a 10% discount over RRP.

We also have SmarterMail 6.x DemoWolf tutorials available at a massive 60% discount!
